How to fish B.C.

British Columbia, Canada

regs.jpg (42857 bytes)Does the pram on the cover of the B.C. regulations look familiar? And yes, the B.C. Government computer enhanced our logo's right off the side of Brian's pram. Oh yeah, leave Sage and the hat logo. Hmmmm. It is a nice fish though!

We developed this part of our site for a simple reason. We hate to drive for a long period of time only to come to a resort where the pictures in the brochure they sent are really nice but....is this the same place? We've been there. We get nothing in return from these resorts.

British Columbia is also kind of our stomping grounds. British Columbia, Canada is what Washington State was 25 years ago and is a fantastic destination. Last year, sitting in a little cafe with Brian Chan, the Fisheries Biologist for the Province he said that I could be at over 175 lakes, within an hour from where we were sitting all with "nice fish". This is some of the finest stillwater fishing in the world. And the bonus is that there are resorts for every budget and likes. Family tent camping, housekeeping cabins (most common) to fully catered adventures. You name it.

I have been going to Canada for all my life. I started when my dad was in the lumber business and would take me on trips all over British Columbia. Most of the trips went up the Eastern part of the Province through towns such as Hope, Merritt, Cache Creek, Kamloops, Vernon, 100 Mile House and ending up on the Western Coast going through towns such as Williams Lake, Quesnel, Prince George Smithers and Prince Rupert.

If you would like suggestions on B.C. resorts and fishing conditions there are many sites available. One of the best we have found for B.C. fishing is www.bcadventure.com Brian Chan, as noted above is the Senior Provincial Fisheries Biologist and has many articles on equipment, flies and tactics. You will note that we have information on a couple of resorts that are in the "housekeeping cabins" category. This means you clean up. These are both great family locations with lots of things to do for all. We will be constantly adding more as we go along. If we can help with questions you may have don't hesitate to email us and we would be happy to point you in the right direction.
